The latest example is an upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bootlegtheater.org\/e\/los-angeles-college-radio-night-92301394957\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"College Radio Night (opens in a new tab)\">College Radio Night<\/a> in Los Angeles, featuring participation by eight college radio stations. The February 27th event will also include guest panels as well as live music. Radio stations taking part include KCSN, UCLA Radio, KXLU, KXSC, KSDT, KUCI, KUCR, and KOXY. There will also be some panelists from public radio station KCRW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">University of Minnesota-Duluth&#8217;s Public\/Community Station KUMD License Sale<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At University of Minnesota-Duluth, it has been announced that there is a pending sale of the license for its independent public radio station <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"KUMD-FM (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kumd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">KUMD-FM<\/a> to the owner of public television station WDSE. While not a student-run college radio station, KUMD does have student DJs during its night-time indie rock\/hip-hop programming block &#8220;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"The Basement (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kumd.org\/programs\/basement\" target=\"_blank\">The Basement<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TV station WDIO <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"reported (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wdio.com\/duluth-minnesota-news\/regents-consider-sale-of-kumd-fm-to-wdse-tv\/5644156\/\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a> early word of the proposed sale, stating, &#8220;Documents do not mention the future of student-produced programming on KUMD, which airs in the late evening and overnight hours. When asked by Regent Mike Kenyanya about the future role of students at the station, [UMD Chancellor Lendley] Black acknowledged that the new owners could make a change.&#8221; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"MPR News (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mprnews.org\/story\/2020\/02\/14\/umd-agrees-to-sell-longtime-community-radio-station-kumd\" target=\"_blank\">MPR News<\/a> pointed out that &#8220;Black said the partnership would provide internship and other opportunities in both TV and radio for UMD students.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deal still requires approval from University of Minnesota&#8217;s Board of Regents as well as the FCC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2
